Yesterday Nic got in the car at school beaming and read me a letter that started with:

Congratulations! Your child has been selected to participate in the schools Peer Mediation Program at JO Combs High School. This program will allow specially selected students to train as Mediators, who will then help other students find positive ways to solve disagreements.

They called the kids to the office and told them they had been selected by their teachers due to academics, attitude and other attributes.

Nic was so excited! He said, "I guess it does pay off to be a good person and get good grades!" Yes Nic, it certainly does! We are so proud of YOU!!

(And he didn't even have 1 grumble about attending 3 days of training in July over vacation.)
