A BOY IS

TRUTH with dirt on his face,

BEAUTY with a cut on his finger,

WISDOM with bubble gum in his hair,

and theHOPE of the future with a
frog in his pocket.

LITTLE GIRLS

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs

And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow

And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls

And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,

And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

Merry Christmas 2010!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our boys this year! They were so excited and appreciated all their presents - it was wonderful! We also skyped this year for the 1st time and Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Kerri were all able to join us for Christmas morning all the way from CT - we loved it! Here's our Christmas in pictures.

Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

This year was very exciting for us! We added a precious new miracle to our family with the birth of William Douglas on July 17th. Sometimes I just look at my 3 boys and just pinch myself that they are my mine – children are so amazing! William is a happy little boy who is always so calm and peaceful. He loves to watch his brothers and babble to them! He is always full of smiles that make you smile right along with him.

Justin had 2 broken arms (compound fractures) this year – he is one active boy! I am constantly telling him to slow down because my boy has no fear! He loves the outside and is happiest on his bike or playing at the park. He is now 6 and in 1st grade.

Nic is 15 and a sophomore in high school – not sure how that happened! He is an Assistant Captain on his wrestling team and enjoys working out. He is definitely a teenager… but still finds time to hang out with Justin and torment him (brotherly love).

Alex works so hard and we are so grateful for him. He took a job demotion when he started with this company and this year he was promoted back into management and then was made an Assistant Vice President. We are so proud of him and so happy that all his hard work is starting to pay off! He has found a love of gardening and loves to plant and tend to our garden, this winter he is growing peas, carrots, radishes, cabbage, egg plant, brussell sprouts and bok choy.

I love being a mom and wife! I still love to crochet and have been doing a bit more sewing. I have found in the past few years that life is hard. So many of us struggle with losing homes, keeping food on the table, buying the essentials – in our area it is happening to every other to sometimes every home on the street. But in this struggle I have found that “Happy” can be so simple. I have learned that I don’t need the most expensive things – even used is ok, that we don’t need to go out to eat – home cooking is healthier, that “things” don’t matter. My new happy is having food on the table, $ to pay the bills, gas for Alex to go to work and my family together at the dinner table talking about the day. Maybe this recession will be good for all of us. Maybe all of us will learn that Happy is really simple – having the basics/what we need vs what we want, and the love of our family is really a wonderful life!

I hope for you all a Christmas of Love. I have never known a love like the love that I have my 3 boys and Alex. Each day it seems impossible to love my family more than I already do, and yet each passing moment I love them more than I did the second before… May you all hold each other just a bit tighter this year and find the simple Happiness in Life!

William - 5 months

My littlest boy...
You are growing so fast! It seems like yesterday I was holding you for the very first time! You still hate laying on your stomach! But you love laying on your back reaching for things. You love standing up - this is new - legs that don't bend and you stand so tall looking at everything! EVERYTHING goes in your mouth! Blankies, your little stuffed elephent, and you suck on them till they are soaked! You love watching your brothers - they come in the room, you hear them and immediately turn and look for them. Your hair is finally started to grow back and your cradle cap is almost gone. You sleep 8 to 10 hours but 2 days this week you have only slept 6 - maybe you are growing? You are such a happy baby and rarely cry! You smile and smile and smile! You hate loud noices - they startle you - and that is usually the only time you cry. You even wake up happy and smiling!
I love you William. To the moon and back - one million 5 thousand times - and yes that is a lot!

Today is also your Uncle Dougies bday - he would have been 36 years old. I think often that I wish you could have met him - he was so funny! But then I remember that you have ~ he was one of the angels kissing you as you came down to be with us. We even have evidence of all the angels who kissed you! When all your hair fell off we noticed little red blotches on the back of your kneck. I asked the Dr about them and she said they are birth marks. These are also known as angel kisses ~ spots left from the kisses the angels gave you as you left Heaven to come live on earth.

Nicholas

Nicholas - Over vacation we will be getting you your learners permit. So scary! You hate mornings and make everyone around you hate them with you ~ seriously :) You love to torment your brother... oh my achin' head! You love wrestling but cry at your lack of sleep and your tired body! We can talk to you in the same room and you hear nothing! But... you can be 3 rooms away, hear dad and I talking and join in the conversation - is this a teenage thing? I love you my crazy, talking back, loveable, still not to old to tell me you love me oldest son! Can you just stop growing up? I'm not ready for you to graduate from High school in 2 years!
I love you Nic ~ to the moon and back ~ one hundred million 5 thousand times - and Yes that is a lot!

Justin

Justin - My handsome middle son, with eyes so blue and eyelashes to make any girl jealous! You are so full of energy and are in constant motion. You are always making mommy's heart flutter with fear that you are going to hurt yourself. You are turning into a daddy's boy and love to spend time with him. Every night daddy comes upstairs to turn out your lights and sits and talk with you for a few minutes ~ you never let him forget ~ you love this time, just you and daddy together. You have such a tender heart when people are hurting but can fight with your brother 9 years older than you and hold your own :/ You are a good cleaner upper and I never have to double check you've cleaned up with toys where they belong.
I love you JJ. To the moon and back ~ one hundred million 5 thousand times. And yes that is a lot! :)
