Dear Family and Friends,
This year was very exciting for us! We added a precious new miracle to our family with the birth of William Douglas on July 17th. Sometimes I just look at my 3 boys and just pinch myself that they are my mine – children are so amazing! William is a happy little boy who is always so calm and peaceful. He loves to watch his brothers and babble to them! He is always full of smiles that make you smile right along with him.
Justin had 2 broken arms (compound fractures) this year – he is one active boy! I am constantly telling him to slow down because my boy has no fear! He loves the outside and is happiest on his bike or playing at the park. He is now 6 and in 1st grade.
Nic is 15 and a sophomore in high school – not sure how that happened! He is an Assistant Captain on his wrestling team and enjoys working out. He is definitely a teenager… but still finds time to hang out with Justin and torment him (brotherly love).
Alex works so hard and we are so grateful for him. He took a job demotion when he started with this company and this year he was promoted back into management and then was made an Assistant Vice President. We are so proud of him and so happy that all his hard work is starting to pay off! He has found a love of gardening and loves to plant and tend to our garden, this winter he is growing peas, carrots, radishes, cabbage, egg plant, brussell sprouts and bok choy.
I love being a mom and wife! I still love to crochet and have been doing a bit more sewing. I have found in the past few years that life is hard. So many of us struggle with losing homes, keeping food on the table, buying the essentials – in our area it is happening to every other to sometimes every home on the street. But in this struggle I have found that “Happy” can be so simple. I have learned that I don’t need the most expensive things – even used is ok, that we don’t need to go out to eat – home cooking is healthier, that “things” don’t matter. My new happy is having food on the table, $ to pay the bills, gas for Alex to go to work and my family together at the dinner table talking about the day. Maybe this recession will be good for all of us. Maybe all of us will learn that Happy is really simple – having the basics/what we need vs what we want, and the love of our family is really a wonderful life!
I hope for you all a Christmas of Love. I have never known a love like the love that I have my 3 boys and Alex. Each day it seems impossible to love my family more than I already do, and yet each passing moment I love them more than I did the second before… May you all hold each other just a bit tighter this year and find the simple Happiness in Life!
The Fisher’s
Alex, Kristi, Nicholas, Justin and William
