A BOY IS

TRUTH with dirt on his face,

BEAUTY with a cut on his finger,

WISDOM with bubble gum in his hair,

and theHOPE of the future with a
frog in his pocket.

LITTLE GIRLS

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs

And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow

And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls

And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,

And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

A Trip Home

We traveled to CT from June 9th to the 23rd. The kids were really great on the plane ride to CT. I had checked in on line and paid for lugguge so we got off the airport shuttle at Delta and did curbside baggage check-in and then went straight to security. Security was okay this time. We had to have the stroller inspected all the bottles wanded over the top for vapors and since we had to carry the babies through screening our hands were wanded for chemicals. But we made it through and got to our gate.  Detroit was a nightmare of an airport. We had to go from concourse A to C through underground tunnel on a moving walkway that was lighted and had music. I heard it was a 2 mile walk. UG! We just made it to our plane and boarded right away.  When we landed in CT my sisters were already waiting for us! (my mom and dad were at a wedding so we didn't see them until the next morning.) It was so wonderful to be greeted by Kerri and Kelly and... I got my first in person look at my niece Ava. What a precious little girl! I love her so much! And my sister's got there first look at the boys in 2 years and their first glimpse of Emma and Jaxen. It was wonderful to be home! My sister Kerri took the entire 2 weeks off and my sister Kelly took off 1 week.

We spent time with my family and also traveled to Alex's parent's, about an hour away and visited with his niece Danielle, her boyfriend, his brother Bruce, Uncle Bill, his nephews Cody and Robert and his sister in law Christine. My parents had a huge picnic on Saturday and I got to see all my uncles and aunts and cousins and their children and my close friends. It was wonderful to just hang out! We had good food, cajun horseshoes, a bounce house and sprinklers.I am so blessed that my family made it a priority and changed schedules to be able to see us. Sometimes I really miss being home!

I spent a lot of time with my sisters. All 3 of us even went and got pedicures one day leaving all the kids with my mom. We even had time for lunch :)  Alex and I excaped one day for lunch just the 2 of us. The boys went to the beach with my sisters one day and then my mom, sisters, all the kids and I drove down to the shore, went to the beach and had fresh seafood at Fred's Shack! Oh fresh fried clams and New England clam chowder - yummy! We went to parks and miniature golf and loved playing in Grandpa's big beautiful green back yard.

It was a wonderful trip which ended way too early! We had an emotional goodbye with my sisters Friday night and Kelly left in tears with my precious Ava and Williams new best friend. They played so nice together when William wasn't strangling her with hugs! My parent's drove us to the airport Saturday morning and we were off. Security at Bradley was so much better than 2 years ago. They were super helpful getting everything inspected and it wasn't as crazy as last time. It was a great experience. They said they have new technology - better than Phoenix and didn't even have to open the baby bottles. I guess being one of the airports that NY flights could be rerouted to they have invested in the best techology for scanners etc. We got to our gate and...our flight was delayed. Which sent me in a panic as we only had one and a half hours to get through Detroit without the delay!  We got into Detroit and started our 2 mile hike knowing that we would probably miss our plane. I am so stressing!!!  So we finally get to our gate and the plane hadn't even boarded. It's broke and we are waiting on a new plane. So thankful as now we have time for a bathroom break and to get the kids food! However the delays at both airports did prolong the day considerably and although William was not bad on the plane he was getting very antsy and not wanting to sit still. But we had some awesome flight attendents on that flight! They came by and picked up a baby to hold and bounce. Brought out William some extra treats. And the poor lady with the little girl who screamed the whole flight let her stand in the Galley with her daughter. It's nice to be home... but I desperately miss my family and all the helping hands and love we had while we were there!
