A BOY IS

TRUTH with dirt on his face,

BEAUTY with a cut on his finger,

WISDOM with bubble gum in his hair,

and theHOPE of the future with a
frog in his pocket.

LITTLE GIRLS

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs

And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow

And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls

And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,

And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

Once in a Lifetime

Nic had the opportunity to attend Police Week in DC with his Explorer Post. His post was also given the honor of laying a wreath at the fallen officer memorial. They stayed for a full week in downtown DC. They attended many Police week events, the highlights were the wreath laying, the parade and the candle light ceremony. They also went to the  Vietnam memorial and the world war 2 memorial. They went to the Smithsonian, natural history museum, Halocost  museum, they had senate passes, Arlington Cemetery   , mount vernon - boat ride,  Lincoln and Jefferson  monument. They saw the Washington monument and the White house - but both were closed to the public. and so much more! The Pinal County Sheriff attended some of police week also and the explorers were thrilled when he joined them for dinner, the Mount Vernon trip and the ceremony were they got to see and hear the President talk. The kids walked around DC most days in there Class As and B's and the advisors heard often how well behaved and professional the kids looked and behaved. I am so grateful Nic was given this opportunity.
