A BOY IS

TRUTH with dirt on his face,

BEAUTY with a cut on his finger,

WISDOM with bubble gum in his hair,

and theHOPE of the future with a
frog in his pocket.

LITTLE GIRLS

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs

And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow

And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls

And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,

And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

Happy 16th Birthday Nic!

I can't believe that you are 16 years old and a junior in high school! Time has certainly gone by fast since I first held you in my arms. You are growing up and exerting your independence and making your own decisions. You have learned that choices have consequences - good and bad. You are getting more interested in the news and caring about the world you will go out and work in. You love your brothers and they love you back a TON!

Nic, I hope you have a wonderful 16th year full of learning and growing! I love you to the moon and back 1 million 5 thousand times, and YES that is a lot!

Happy 1st birthday William!

I love you so much my littlest boy! I held you in my wishes, dreams, and prayers for years. I carried you under my heart for about 8 months. I have held you in my heart and in my arms for 1 whole year! I love you so much William that when I think about it my heart swells with so much joy. I love to be your mommy so very much! It brings me joy everyday!

William you are now:
Drinking out of a sippy cup. You decided you hated your bottle and that was it.
When you don't like something you blow a rasberry and shake your head no.
You are walking and almost running.
You love to stand at the bottom of the stairs and yell to Nic and JJ.
You love having books read to you. Sometimes I think we read 50 books a day.
You don't like mommy to sit on the couch, I have to sit on the floor with you. At the end of the day mommy has a sore butt. But I know this will only last such a short time so I love every minute playing with you on the floor!
You help mommy clean up. I sing the clean up song and hand you a toy and you follow me with your toys to the basket.
You love bananas and mommy's banana bread.
We play head shoulders knees and toes. It makes you laugh and you point to your own head and toes.
You still like to feed the dogs and pet them.
You love grill cheese.
You love to knock over block towers and sometimes you don't even wait until the tower has finished being built.
You love to push your blue hippo walker, play your piano, and push your wagon full of blocks.

William you bring sunshine love and laughter to my life everyday! I can't believe that you are 1 year old today! Happy birthday my baby boy! I love you to the moon and back 1 million 5 thousand times. And yes that is a lot!

Justin is ........7 !!

Where has the time gone my Middle Son? I can't believe that you are 7!

This was a big year of change for you Justin. You are no longer my baby boy. It is so hard to lose your baby status after 6 years but you do love your baby brother so much! A few extra hugs and some special time just for you with dad and I has seemed to reassure you how special you are to us. You are still VERY energetic and give me heart attacks daily, my nightly prayer is that we will get through the next day with no broken bones. You tease Nic endlessly and want him to spend every second of his day playing with you ~ you completely LOVE your big brother!

You are such a blessing and I am so thankful to have you for my son! You bring such joy, sunshine and laughter to my life everyday!

Justin... my silly, jumping, running, climbing, falling, laughing, big hearted, loving, full of energy boy...I LOVE YOU to the moon and back - 5 million 1 thousand times ~ and yes that is A LOT! :)

Happy 7th birthday Justin!

Justin is finishing up 1st grade and last night he had his last Cottage Fair where the children put on a play about the Pilgrims and Indians and all they have learned this last quarter. We then went to look at their Science Fair projects. We then celebrated at Sonic with slushies and ice cream! YUM!

My middle boy is growing so fast! He graduates to 2nd grade on June 2nd and then on June 10th he turns 7!

10 Months

How can this be? 10 Months already? My baby is growing up way too fast!

William this has been a month of lots of new things!
A new tooth! May 1st you cut through your bottom right tooth.
Crawling, you started and now we can't stop you!
You pull yourself up on everything and can stand without holding on.
You walk along the furniture.
You love to play TIMBER! Mommy builds the blocks and you knock them down!
You love soft serve ice cream cones and squeal for more! You also love pancakes and waffles and can gobble a banana in no time!
You can climb a couple stairs by yourself.
You love to say "YEA!" and clap your hands and then laugh and laugh.
You stand at the gate and yell until the dogs run over to find out what all the noise is about. Max and JD walk away but Riley stays to let you pet him.
You love to stand at the stairs and yell, "JJ, JJ, JJ, JJ"
When Nic comes in the room you love to say, "Ni, Ni, Ni" until he comes to see you.

William, you brighten my days. You fill my arms and my heart. You are my son, my miracle. I love you William ~ to the moon and back 1 million 5 thousand times ~ and yes that is a lot! Happy 10 month bday baby!

Toilet

Doesn't if figure that when you need to save $ the most, things go and break!

The downstairs toilet is dead! Alex snaked it and tried all the cheap options and it still won't flush. He even took it out to see if something was stuck that the snake just wouldn't get. Still wouldn't work. So... we had to buy a new toilet. And since the door and toilet are out I might as well paint the bathroom like I wanted to. So, tomorrow after church I am making lunch and then headed to paint. I am putting crown molding up too, but that is going to have to wait a bit longer.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a $ tree?

Sewing Machine...

Mine bites! It works if I tell it how much I hate it and then pleading with it just to sew a bit more. I have been wanting a new one so badly, but to spend that kind of money on myself - no way!

So today I come downstairs - the kids are gone to school and Alex says, "I was trying to sneak out the door so you couldn't get mad." "Why I said?" "Happy Bday" says he pointing at my new digital - no foot pedal needed tons of stitches sewing machine!

I went from thinking "wow!" to thinking "crud that's a lot of $" - which is why he was trying to leave before I came downstairs.

I really love my sewing machine!!!!!!!! Why do I feel so guilty for $ spent on me? Probably because it came out of somewhere it was not suppose to... But, I really love my sewing machine! I'll put my birthday $ from my parents and scrimp on groceries for a couple weeks to replace the $. It will be ok... I really love my sewing machine! Can you tell the guilt and the happiness are at war in my head?
But.....I do so love my new sewing machine!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Alex and my boys for buying me something I love so much! :) And thank you Alex for coming home from work early and then going back out and picking Nic up at practice. I loved having you home early just as much as my sewing machine! :)

Getting bigger...

William had his 9 month appointment. He is doing great.
17lbs 8oz and 27 1/2 inches tall. 10th percentile for both weight and height.

The only bad news... he has no teeth and the Dr said that most kids who get teeth late tend to get all 8 at once.

So here's looking forward to 4 bottom and 4 top teeth coming together in the near future!

~ note to self: stock some freezer meals to prepare for that crazy week of teeth!

Happy 9 Month Birthday William

I seriously can't believe that William is 9 months. How fast time sneaks by us!
He is at an adorable age! Full of curiosity!
William - you are almost crawling. You move yourself by sitting up then moving to a crawl and then sitting up again. Whatever works I guess :) You still have no teeth. You love to babble and talk very loudly. It is very easy to make you laugh - you are so happy! You love your new Easter present - a swing set. Whe Justin is on it and you are in your high chair watching you get so excited and start squealing and kicking your legs and moving your arms - I am sure you are saying "get me out of here mommy and out on that swing!"
Here are some pics of the boys today. I was trying to get some nice pictures to print for Mother's Day. I think they came out so beautiful! The dogs added some nice chaos to the picture taking :).

What's been going on...

I have been a bad blogger lately...

Grandma came for a visit. We had big plans to do stuff but really only got to Peter Piper and Sea Life aquarium. Grandma got the stomach virus and was not feeling so well.
Nic and Justin had a wonderful time playing the games at Peter Piper - and so did Grandma.
Sea Life was fun. Justin really enjoyed it. But compared to Mystic Aquarium the price of admission was very... pricey - even with coupons.

After Grandma left the stomach bug has hit the rest of our house. UG!

We got our spring garden planted. We did 12 tomato plants for sauce and then just salad stuff - lettuce, radish, carrot, onion, parsley, dill, basil, and 1 pumpkin plant in the orange tree area.

Nic has been helping our neighbor Ted replant his plants that have died. What started to be an afternoon of helping has turned into days and hours as Ted has him planting 60 plants. I think it got a little out of control as far as "helping" but Nic has been a good sport about it.

Nic got his drivers permit. I thought he would get it over Christmas break but he needed to be 15 and 6 months. I took him to the school parking lot to practice a little the other night. He's still nervous and Justin yelling "He's going to kill us" in the back didn't help. Luckily he's in drivers ed at school and we also paid the extra $100.00 so he can do behind the wheel. His instructor takes him out after school and they drive for 6 hours and he also gives him his drivers test. I think that's the best $100.00 I've spent in a long time!

Justin is loving being outside on his bike. I still think he is a tad jealous of William - guess that's what happens when you are the youngest for 6 years. He loves the garden and must help with whatever's going on in there - except for the weeding, it gets old fast. He keeps trying to do stunts - now on his scooter and took a nice somersault the other day. A daily prayer for me is that he will not break a bone the next day.

William is a love. He loves to have his kneck kissed and belly laughs so hard when you do. We are working on getting him to drink a bottle. He will happily take a bottle or sippy cup when it is filled with juice. Milk or formula? Spits it right out and refuses more. Oh that boy! I met with Dr Craig and really need him on formula - but that boy cries like I am breaking his heart if I try it. I'm praying daily that he just gladly wakes up and accepts it soon...

I think I'm all caught up again... :)

William is 8 Months

Time is certainly flying! I can't believe 8 months ago William was 6 lbs 8oz and here he is at 8 months weighing 16 lbs!

William you are so happy! You babble constantly - even humming yourself to sleep. You squeal so loud when you see your brothers and love when they get on the floor and play with you! You are constantly waving at daddy and saying "Hi dada". Poor mommy I rarely hear my name, but I know you love me as I am the one you want to hold and cuddle and snuggle.

I love you my littlest man! Happy 8 month birthday!
