A BOY IS

TRUTH with dirt on his face,

BEAUTY with a cut on his finger,

WISDOM with bubble gum in his hair,

and theHOPE of the future with a
frog in his pocket.

LITTLE GIRLS

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs

And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow

And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls

And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,

And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

Going Home...

I am going home. I am so excited!

I have never really wanted to go home like this before. Maybe it is because when I had William I felt the huge absence of my family. I felt so lonely and so sad they weren't there to greet our new baby and welcome him into our family. Maybe because my baby sister is having a baby and her baby will not really know me as her Auntie. Maybe because my children are growing up without really really knowing their grandparents and aunts. Maybe because I miss the reassurance of having family near.

I am also ready to watch the trees explode in color. For the leaves to fall and to blow them into big piles for the kids to jump in and scatter them. I am ready for apple picking and hay rides. I'm ready for the peace of a beautiful snow storm and sledding down a hill. I am ready for snowmen on the front lawn and a cup of warm hot chocolate with marshmallows stuck to my upper lip. I am ready to watch spring emerge from winter and all the buds pop from the ground. I am ready to sit around the table with my family and have the noise and chaos of everyone talking and laughing - and yes even the bickering. I am ready for Sunday dinners with my parents and sisters. I am ready for family picnics and trips to Mystic. I am ready to watch the boys play with cousins and be loved on by their Aunties. I am ready to show the boys all I love about New England. I am ready to go home!
Now to convince Alex to move back to New England...
