Our Baby Boy's Name

Here is how our little boy got his very special name...

We thought long and hard over a name. The one thing we agreed on from the very first was that we wanted our baby’s middle name to honor Doug (Alex's brother who passed away last year), that was very important to us…we know he is this baby’s very special guardian…and all of ours.

One day (after months of going back and forth with 1st names) we were driving in the car and I said to Alex, “What do you think of the name William?”
He said, “That’s Doug’s middle name”.
I said, “That’s my Dad’s middle name.

I said, “Do you like it?” …… and Alex said …… “Yes”.

We tried the name out for awhile; making sure it would be just perfect. And it is. It is a name filled with so much love and wonderful memories of the men in our families who are named it.

Alex's brother's name is Douglas William Fisher. - The boy's "Uncle Dougie". His middle name came from his grandfather (see below).
Alex's Grandfather's name is William Serverni - Alex's mom's dad.
Alex's Uncle's name is William Justin Serverni - Uncle Bill - Alex's mom's brother who got his name from his and Alex's mom's dad (see above).
Alex's Uncle's name is William Smith - Uncle Willy - Alex's mom's sister's husband.


My Dad's Name is John William Versteeg. My Dad got his middle name from his Godfather who is William Wittkop. He was called Bill.


We love our baby's name so much! We know that he will grow into a wonderful man with our love and with the love of the men his name honors.


Our little boy’s name is… William Douglas Fisher …

And now with the question of his name settled, we are anxiously waiting to welcome our little boy to the world. He has already stolen our hearts and we can’t wait to hold and snuggle him…

PS (We won’t be shortening William to a nickname).
